Venice founded in
1905 is a famous commercial beach in Los Angeles. Venice has been
considered as a seaside resort town. Today, Venice is known for its canals,
beaches, and the circus. And one of the famous places here is The Venice Fishing Pier.

Location
and history
Venice
Fishing Pier is along the southern site of the beach
of Washington. The Pier is quite near Sarasota on Rt.41. It was first opened in
1964. However, in 1983 the Pier was
closed because of the El Nino storm damage and re-opened in the 1990s.On
December 21st ,2005, the pier again was badly affected by waves from
northern swell into the ocean. It opened officially again to serve visitors on
May 25th, 2006.
Structure
The concrete structure is approximately 1,310 feet
(400m). So, if you are scared with
height, think carefully before starting your fishing trip here. There is
attractive with a welcome gate in the Pier, which makes everyone feel relax and
exciting.

Standing in
the pier, you can see the expanse of blue water of Gulf of Mexico enjoy fresh
air and cool weather. Therefore, not all visitors come here to fish, many
people go just for the fantastic and beautiful view. You will see view not only
up but also right the Venice coast line.
3. Service
A special point to decide do fishing in the Venice Fishing Pier is that you needn’t
get a fishing license and you can fish for free. This is an advantage of the Venice Fishing
Pier to attract more and more anglers in all over the world to come here.
Besides, although you would like to fish, you don’t
have to bring your fishing equipment along. The shop here will rent you a rod
and reel for only $15 a day. You are also served bait and snack to fish by
shops on the Pier.

Furthermore, there are two sand volleyball courts, six
picnic shelters, public restrooms, pavilion, golf course and restaurant for
visitors to participate here. Some famous hotels are served with convenient
accommodation and professional staff such as Island Sun Inn, Venice Beach
Villas, Nokomis Inn and Suites.
4. Creature
There are many kinds of fish here with unique
features, such as: Red Fish, Spanish , Flounder, Pompano, Blue Fish, Snook,
Ladyfish, Whiting, perhaps Cobia and Tarpon. If you take a look into the water,
you can spot fish and other sea creatures, such as the beautiful Spotted Eagle
Ray.

5. Recommendation
The Venice
Fishing Pier is annually opened at 6:30 am and closed at 9pm to serve
visitors. So, if you have an opportunity to come here, you shouldn’t skip
enjoying sight at sunset. At that time, the sun can still shine up below the horizon, spreading vivid
color under the clouds.

Note
that tables on the Pier are
in highest demand an hour before and during sunset, but you may buy drink and climb to enjoy the view.
Remember that no alcohol permitted outside the restaurant property.
